Hotel Frankopan
The hotel is located in the center of the town of Ogulin, situated in the heart of continental Croatia, surrounded by the Plitvice Lakes to the east, the forested region of Gorski Kotar to the west, and the northern Adriatic to the south.
We are right next to the old 16th-century Frankopan Castle, built by the noble Frankopan family, and opposite the hotel lies the natural hydrogeological monument Đulin ponor. Here, the Dobra River disappears beneath the rocky, steep cliffs into a massive opening in the middle of the town — a breathtaking sight for many visitors. Đulin ponor, together with the Medvedica Cave, forms the longest speleological system in Croatia. The name of the abyss is linked to the legend of a girl, Đula or Zulejka, who threw herself into it because of an unhappy love.
